"Living an integral life means “getting it together” and being “together” rather than being and feeling fragmented. It means thinking, feeling and acting always out of the certainty of your wholeness and never acting out of a sense of disconnection or lack."

Dharma Talks

July 2010

In the tradition of the Buddha's teaching:

In the virtual world of Second Life (free membership) as DoKwang Augenblick I give Dharma Talks once or twice a week at the Buddha Center to an international community, taking questions and encouraging discussion.  Using notes from those talks I have written an expanded version of each talk to share with my readers.  (these are read-only pdf's ©2010 Jim Giorgi)

Dharma Talk July 8:  Hello Dalai; Right Understanding (pdf)

"Attention is the key to liberation."

July 8 (Audio)

Dharma Talk July 12: Light (pdf)

"the only reason we are not in an enlightened state all the time is that we have these gating mechanisms... that’s the only thing that keeps us from drinking in, literally, all of that energy and realizing that we are that conscious loving energy that is the source of all sentient beings and all that is."

July 12 (Audio)

Dharma Talk July 13:  Hwadu (pdf)

"Meditation is not designed to stop thinking, because if you try to stop thinking you're using more thoughts, you are still dwelling in that thought-dominated consciousness.  So it’s like fighting fire with fire.  What you want to do is to get into the space between the thoughts.  So the thoughts are still there but are not dominating your consciousness anymore.  They are there in the background so that they're not arresting your attention, they're not arresting your mood, or your emotional reactions.  They’re just there.."

July 13 (Audio)

Dharma Talk July 27:  What is The Continuum Concept? (pdf)

Everybody has the sense that there is something more to life than what they are experiencing currently.  We need to stop utilizing addictive habits to get what is felt to be  missing.  Engaging in spiritual practice we find that deep down sense of rightness that is buried under pain of separation
